Awareness-raising training on welcoming people with disabilities

The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Info Handicap, offers training on how to welcome people with disabilities in a cultural institution.

The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Info Handicap, offers training on how to welcome people with disabilities in a cultural institution. With the law of the 28th July 2011 on the rights of persons with disabilities, the Luxembourg government implements the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Ministry of Culture actively promotes access to culture for all, as it is one of the fundamental rights and has different prerequisites for everyone.

The aim of the training is to better understand the different needs and to raise awareness of the barriers faced by people with disabilities.

Aware of the architectural challenges that some historic or listed buildings may pose, the Ministry of Culture is also organizing this training to offer professional support in the development of adapted programmes and tools that can facilitate access to cultural life for people with disabilities.

This initiative responds to the KEP recommendation n°50, develop accessibility to culture for people with disabilities.
